Frequently asked questions

Concise answers about monitoring, AI, team workflows, data controls, and source compatibility.
01Can we get value before a document changes?
You do not need to wait for a document to change. Current Terms Brief explains supported automatically captured public text, cites preserved passages, and raises questions for an initial human review. A brief is AI-assisted, may be incomplete or incorrect, and does not establish which terms govern. Initial review is separate from review of a later change. Manual evidence, gated pages, and unsupported captures are not eligible for this feature. It is included on every plan and in the no-card Essentials trial, within the plan's source and member limits.
02What does SaaS Tracker monitor?
Publicly accessible terms of service, privacy policies, data-processing terms, API terms, licenses, subprocessor lists, and other external legal documents relevant to your business.
03Does SaaS Tracker replace a lawyer?
No. AI briefs are decision support and may be incomplete or incorrect. Review cited source language and involve qualified counsel when a change may affect legal rights or obligations.
04How often are sources checked?
Supported automatic and manual monitoring methods offer daily, weekly, or monthly schedules on every plan. Automatic browser fallback uses a weekly capture schedule. The workspace also supports Check now for automatic sources.
05Does support differ by plan?
The same standard product support is available across plans. Existing customer-specific support commitments remain honored. Software access does not include unlimited human services or legal advice.
06What happens when a document changes?
ST stores the retrieved version, generates a comparison, places the change in the decision queue, and can produce a cited AI-assisted potential-impact brief for customer-designated human review.
07Can multiple people use one workspace?
Yes. Owners and administrators can invite members and assign roles. Review work can be assigned with due dates and email notifications.
08What organization roles and permissions are available?
SaaS Tracker uses five cumulative organization roles. Viewers can read sources, versions, change briefs, and archives; Contributors can also add, edit, check, import, and remove sources; Reviewers can additionally assign and resolve review work; Administrators can manage members, roles, organization settings, exports, safeguards, and integrations; and the Owner has full administrator access plus ownership transfer and workspace-deletion authority. Each organization has one Owner, and only Owners and Administrators can manage membership.
09Can I export or delete my data?
Administrators can export the workspace inventory and evidence index as CSV files or download a ZIP package containing the structured workspace records identified in the package manifest. The ZIP package does not include preserved source-document bodies. An authorized workspace administrator may request an assisted export of preserved source-document bodies, subject to identity and organization-authority verification, applicable law, contract terms, security restrictions, and active legal holds. Only workspace owners may request workspace deletion. Deletion requests require authorization and verification, are subject to applicable retention requirements and active legal holds, and are not complete until SaaS Tracker verifies the required technical steps.
10What is included in the free trial?
Try all currently supported SaaS Tracker software features free for 30 days, up to 25 monitored sources and 5 organization members. No card is required. Automatic browser fallback retains its weekly capture schedule because that cadence is specific to the monitoring method, not the plan.
11When does the 30-day trial begin?
The trial begins only when SaaS Tracker successfully creates your organization workspace. Clicking a signup button, creating or verifying an individual login, or beginning a failed workspace-creation attempt does not start the trial. Your account shows the recorded start and expiry times.
12Is a payment method required?
No. SaaS Tracker does not request a payment method, create a charge, or enroll the organization in a paid subscription when the trial begins.
13Will the trial automatically convert or renew?
No. The trial does not automatically convert, renew, or create a charge. At or before expiry, an authorized organization representative may affirmatively choose any available paid plan and billing interval and complete checkout. Paid access begins only after verified payment.
14What happens if we do not purchase a paid plan?
Active service stops when the trial expires, and the workspace becomes read-only. No charge or paid subscription is created. The organization owner may export available organization data or request deletion under the Data Export and Deletion Procedure. Read-only access is not a backup or archival service and remains subject to the Terms, security restrictions, legal holds, and the published data-handling procedures.
15Can we choose Professional or Business after using Essentials during the trial?
Yes. Every plan includes the same currently supported software features; Professional and Business provide more monitored-source and organization-member capacity. At or before expiry, an authorized organization representative may select any paid plan and monthly or annual interval then available at checkout. The checkout shows the exact price, tax, amount charged today, renewal terms, and cancellation terms before confirmation.
16Can an existing customer start a trial?
No. The offer is limited to one trial per eligible new legal organization. Existing subscriptions remain unchanged.
17How does SAAS50 work?
Enter SAAS50 at your first paid checkout from the trial for 50% off the first paid monthly invoice. It applies only to a monthly plan, cannot be combined with another offer, does not apply to annual billing, and does not reduce later renewal invoices.
18Can we cancel the trial?
There is no paid subscription or recurring charge to cancel during the trial. You may stop using the Service at any time. An authorized organization owner may request deletion under the Data Export and Deletion Procedure. If you later purchase a paid subscription, the cancellation terms shown at checkout and in the Terms apply.
19Will every webpage work as a source?
No. ST first checks supported public source pages through automatic retrieval. An HTTP 403 means the website refused the automated request; an HTTP 520 means the website or its network returned an unexpected server response. If the website repeatedly returns either response and continues blocking automatic retrieval, ST automatically switches the source to browser monitoring. A controlled browser opens the public page, preserves its rendered content and a screenshot, and checks it weekly for changes. If browser monitoring cannot access or reliably capture the source because it requires a login, presents a CAPTCHA, enforces another access control, or must be supplied as a file, ST enables manual monitoring so an authorized user can confirm the source or upload the current official document. ST never bypasses authentication, CAPTCHAs, or access restrictions.
